Ghana-first · Launching soon

Clear the stigma. Keep the hope.

StigmaClear is a movement to change how Ghana talks about, responds to, and recovers from mental health struggles, starting in Kumasi. Better words. Better first responses. Hope you can practise, one day at a time.

Be first to know
Why this matters

People speak up. Too often, no one knows how to answer.

Most campaigns say "talk to someone." But when someone finally does, they're often laughed at, disbelieved, or lectured, and many never try again. The everyday words we use for mental illness still mean "madness." StigmaClear starts with the listener, the language, and a clear next step.

Train the listener first

Friends, parents, pastors, teachers and managers learn what to do in the first minute.

Give people better words

In our own languages, tested for whether they actually reduce stigma.

Every message has a door

Awareness without help is cruel, so every message points to a real next step.

The StigmaClear Model

Four simple tools, built on evidence.

Designed for Ghana, measured every year, and made to become culture rather than a campaign that ends.

Gyina Me Ho

"Stand with me." A five-step first response for anyone someone opens up to.
